With less than eight minutes remaining in the first half of Sunday night's NCAA women's title game, Pat Summitt took Chamique Holdsclaw out of the lineup to give the Tennessee star a quick rest.
At the time, Holdsclaw was trailing Louisiana Tech 17-16. The Lady Vols as a whole, however, were leading 42-17.
That's all you need to know about Tennessee's 93-75 victory over the Lady Techsters.
It was over very early because Tennessee dominated every facet of the game -- including neutralizing Louisiana Tech's super- fast transition game.
"I think being down 42-17 really hurt us," Tech center Alisa Burras said. "We got in a position where a couple of us kind of got down, and we couldn't get back into it like we usually do."
Every time Tech tried to run, Tennessee was there with an answer. Every time Tennessee tried anything, Tech was left questioning whether it belonged on the same court with the now three-time defending national champion.
