Neil Patrick Harris of "Rent" and "Starship Troopers," opening Friday.
Signs of the Times: Fridays, I usually go to a movie at Universal CityWalk, where I can check out the
women and the neon. I'm a big fan of new technology, so I like really good sound and movie theater
seats. As far as movie genres, you can't get much better than a Stallone-laden slugfest.
Hollywood Nights: Saturday nights, I usually go out to the Sky Bar. It epitomizes
Hollywood society: The shots are $15, the waitresses are gorgeous and everyone is dressed like a
model. It's so surreal; it's better than watching a movie!
Weighty Problems: I work out with my trainer, Brian, at the Power Center in Toluca Lake on
Saturday mornings and go eat lunch at my favorite restaurant, Canard de Bombay on Ventura
Boulevard. I love their kima, which is made with ground turkey, but I don't generally eat a lot of
health food. In fact, I'm trying to put on weight.
Erratic Errands: I love Brentanos in Century City, with its plush carpeting, mahogany wood and epics
about the Korean conflict. I also like to go to Tower Records and check out what's new. I just
bought the Bjork CD, and the new Chumbawamba. I'm returning Chumbawamba. It blows.
With the "Rent" Cast: Sometimes we hang out after the show. The other night, we went to Roscoe's
Chicken & Waffles for comfort food of the highest degree. It's a very laid-back place, almost like a
small Southern town. But since we need to protect our voices, we really can't go out and drink or
smoke. So usually I just go back to my house where it's just me, Conan and Dave.
