What Are the Road Rovers?

Road Rovers (c) 1996 Warner Bros.
Road Rovers is a very cool show that first aired on the WB back in '96. It's basically about six dogs that were chosen by The Master (Professor Shepherd) to fight crime. When it's time, the dogs go underground to the secret Road Rover Mission Control and step into a giant machine called the Transdogmafier (built by The Master).  This transforms the dogs into Cano-Sapiens, which makes them more human-like (they can stand upright, talk, drive vehicles, etc.) as you can see from the picture above. The dogs are: Hunter (Retriever), Colleen (Collie), Exile (Husky), Blitz (Doberman), Shag (Sheepdog), and Muzzle (Rottweiler). When Shag went through the Transdogmafier he just got bigger (a lot bigger), and when Muzzle went through the Transdogmafier he became uncontrollable (that's why he's in a straight jacket). Hunter leads the pack and they track down and stop villains to save the world. Their main villain, General Parvo got the plans for the Transdogmafier and created the Cano-Mutator. When a dog goes through this machine, it becomes a growling beast-dog known a Cano-Mutant. It's only up to the Road Rovers now!

Unfortunately, Road Rovers was canceled from the WB only after 13 episodes in 1997.  Then the reruns where shown on Cartoon Network for quite a while (1998-2000), but the show was canceled again.  Currently, the show isn't on the air at the moment and it doesn't look like it will be shown for quite a while.
