On Sunday May 20, 2001, there was a Buddha Name Repentance service at noon in the Great Hall of our temple, presiding by Upasika Nghiêm-Ngoc Nguyên Thi My Hông, with Upasika Châu-Ngoc Lê Hoa Nhuy playing the motak, and Upasika Diêu-Ngoc Lê Thi Hông Thu striking the bell.  There were 82 participants.  At the conclusion of the service, our president Upasaka Minh-Quang Nguyên Lê Ðúc announced revision of our Web site and advice to use the navigation bar on top of the page in case the browser didn't support the hover button function.  He also announced the posting of Quan Âm Thi Kính, an epic of 788 verses in Vietnamese about the Boddhisattva, and the Dharma talk Bát Nhã Tâm Kinh (Heart Sutra) in Vietnamese by Nun Nhu Thuy on our Web site for study.

Many members have arrived from 10am for preparation, especially the ladies in the cooking service and the Gia Ðình Phât Tu Hai-Ðúc youth group practicing the dragon dance and singing for their forthcoming participation in the ARVN Armed Forces Day with the Vietnamese community.  We saw in the kitchen Upasika Nguyên Thi My Hông, head cook, with the help of Upasikas Võ Thi Cài, Nguyên Thi Tu, Hô Thi Ðê, Bùi Thi Chuong, Tât Walling, Lý Nguyêt Huong, Nguyên Thi Ngoc My; arriving late were Upasikas Bùi Thi Hiêp and Trân Thi Minh Châu ... In the menu, we found spring rolls, fried vegetables, steamed tofu sausage, fried rice noodles, relishes ... served on rice.  The congregation sat down for lunch after the service.  And the ladies stayed late, some without having lunch, for cleaning and washing dishes (and pots and pans).  May the Buddha bless them all for their good deed!
