CineSight Rating ***

England, 932 A.D. Inspired by the dream of Camelot and a vision of the Holy Grail, King Arthur draws to his side a band of noble knights to make the dream a reality... Well, okay, he pulls together a bunch of loonies to make an extremely silly film!

The Pythons pool their collective streams of insanity to produce a non-stop madhouse, which spoofs all things medieval, and then some. In the course of their search, Arthur (Chapman) and his knights - Launcelot (Cleese), Galahad (Palin), Robin (Idle) and the rest, must overcome a series of obstacles: smart-alec peasants; the fierce Black Knight; terrible taunting Frenchmen; the horrific Killer Rabbit; not to mention a cruel animator.

"Holy Grail" is a non-stop barrage of silly songs, sight gags and off-the-wall verbal genius. It can't be described. Rather, it needs to be experienced.

CineSight Comments and Trivia

Faster than an unladen swallow (African or European), here it is - probably the highlight of the Wild British comedy troupe known as Monty Python. Although the disk has very little in the way of extra features, the movie itself is really all you need. That's it. There's really nothing more to say. And now for something completely different...

* Many extra scenes were scripted but never filmed, including Arthur's meeting with King Brian, the Wild.
* Several scenes were shot in a London city park next to a busy intersection.
* The producers are anxious to point out that no mooses were harmed during the making of the film.
