-Nineteen of 35 members of Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department,which will observe it's 25th anniversary next week. Stand in Front of the fire house and equipment,including new $13,500 truck bought last winter and two tanker trucks. Chief Raymond Bissaillon is in the foreground. Anniversary will be marked by open house on 27th and 29th and dinner and dance on 28th.

Volunteer Firefighters at Clarksburg pause during nine-hour work bee yesterday at the fire house.Where they are constructing addition to east side of the building to serve as quarters for new $13,500 truck to be bought by the town.

Lack of water frustrates Firemen.
A garage and two barns which were totally distroyed in a roaring blaze at the Paradise Farm, Stamford,VT. Last night are shown at the height of the fire,a half hour after it was discovered and just before North Adams firemen arrived and got it under control by pumping water from a swimming pool. Hay barn where the started was in center. Flames then spread to gabled cow barn at the left side of photo,but part of that building a nearby caretaker's house and the main residence, thhe 150-year-old former paradise inn were saved.
WORK OF THE FIREBUG
-It's the second fire in three days,called the work of an arsonist by Clarksburg Fire Chief William Anderson,destroys home of Mr. and Mrs. Merle W.Vickery of Middle road.,Clarksburg. First fire at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday,burned out one room. Today's 5:30 am blaze gutted entire interior. State officals are working with Clarksburg authorities in probe.
