  1. Obtain an e-mail account at www.hotmail.com or any other site if you don't have one already.
  2. Sign up on the class listserv.
  3. Buy the textbook.
  4. Install the chat software.
  5. Post your organizations' mission statement and goals and objectives to the listserv. Develop some if your organization doesn't have them.
  6. Read everyone's listserv submissions.
  7. Participate in the first chat session on Month and Day, at Given Time. We'll discuss everyone's mission statements and goals and objectives. We'll also clear up any technical difficulties that you may be experiencing in the first hour.
  8. For those who can't participate in a chat, please read the mission statements and goals and objectives that will be posted to the listserv by your classmates. Publish your organization's mission statement, goals and objectiveson the listserv.

  1. Read the case study "Alpha Beta Honor Society," that will be the basis for our simulation.
  2. Read "How to Analyze a Case Study."
  3. I'll assign you to a chat simulation session based upon your availability.
  4. Participate in the second chat session on Month and Day, at Given Time. We'll discuss readings during the first hour and start the simulation in the second hour.
  5. For those of you who can't participate in the chat session simulations, please start writing a case study based on a student-run organization after reading "How to Write a Case Study." The orgnanization may be one in which you are a member or one that you are observing (with their written permission, of course).

  1. Read the case study "Bell Atlantic" and post your analysis to the listserv. Remember to integrate class material with case facts.
  2. Participate in the third chat session on Month and Day at Given Time.
  3. For those of you who aren't participating in the simulation, continue writing your case study. Begin your analysis.

  1. Explain in your own words the different change models that you have read about. Use these models to help you to analyze and explain a past or present situation in which your organization had to adapt to change. Post your submission to the listserv.
  2. What were the different forms of resistance to change that you have observed occurring in a student-run organization. Give an example for each and describe how this resistance was managed by the organization's leaders. We'll discuss this during the first hour of the chat session or you can post your submission to the listserv.
  3. Participate in the final chat session.
  4. Analyze the simulation and post it to the listserv.
  5. If you chose to write your own case study, please post it and your analysis to the listserv.
