What does a counselor do?

A counselor helps children to understand better.

A counselor helps parents to understand their children and the school program for their children.

A counselor helps the principal with referrals and reports from other agencies.

If a student has a problem, the counselor will have a conference with that student.

The purposes of a counselor is....

to help a child when he or she has a problem.

to provide a comprehensive guidance-counseling program in order to meet the needs of students on an individualized basis.
