Gammell, Mary Lou - Mary Lou was born May 26, 1939 and was taken home on March 26, 2016. Mary Lou Gammill passed away peacefully at her home in Chandler, Arizona on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Mary Lou was born May 26, 1939, to Perry and Fern Williams in Trinidad, Colorado. They moved to Klamath Falls Oregon when she was a child, and eventually to Grand Junction, Colorado, where she graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1957. She married John Gammill in August, 1957, and they had over 40 years together until he passed away on December 4, 2000. Mary Lou worked for the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel for over 25 years, starting in single copy delivery and eventually retiring as a District Manager. She loved bowling and crocheting, along with camping and fishing. Mary Lou is survived by four sons and their wives, David and Teresa; Jim and Michelle; Dan and Lisa, and Jerry and Vicki; her grandchildren, Amy, Jake, Josh, Abbey, Tawna, Kyle, Morgan, Torrey, and Alexis, and her great-grandchildren, Daisha, Elijah, Nikole, Michael, and Kaylie. Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, April 9, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Main Street Room, Springhill Suites, 236 Main St., Grand Junction, CO. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. "I will miss Mary Lou. In my own years at the Daily Sentinel, she taught me how to do a newspaper route in Collbran, how to collect racks and the in's and out's of the Circulation Department. She was an excellent teacher and enjoyed helping others."

Garner, Joseph Adrian - Joseph was born on September 04, 1958 and went to be with his Lord on October 28, 1999. He is greatly missed by family and friends and his mother says: "Til we meet again, Mom."

Garnett, William - William has gone home to be with his Lord, leaving behind family and friends who greatly love and miss him. He was a good Uncle.

Gaspar, Mary Conklin Robson - Mary was born May 8, 1927 and went home to be with her Lord on November 24, 1999. Her sister, Kathleen, says: "She is sorely missed by her children and me, her sister. As I think of the times we spent together, I thank God as I will miss her more than I can say. I was blessed to have her."

Gellner, Otto Josef - Otto was born on September 15, 1937. He was a machinist and was a good one! He went home to be with his Lord on October 18, 1995 after bravely enduring inoperable brain and lung cancer. He left behind his loving and devoted wife of 8 years and 3 months. His will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Gilbert, Arthur (aka Art)- Arthur Logan Gilbert, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, left this world on March 22, 2013. - He passed away suddenly while traveling, surrounded by the love of his family. Arthur was born June 1, 1921 to Millard W.H. Gilbert and Cora McClure Gilbert in Kannah Creek. He enjoyed a playful childhood there, riding Prune Juice the cow to school each day, until moving to Grand Junction at age 11. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1939, then attended Mesa Junior College, and then Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo, where he met a fiery red-head who would soon become his wife. Art was proud to join the Army in 1942, and to serve in WWII. On D-day, he landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy in the second wave. He also participated in the liberation of the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps, changing the course of history. He was honored for his service in 2009 by participating in the Western Slope Honor Flight. After the war, Art returned home in 1948, and began his new life as a father, going on to raise three rambunctious children. He joined his father and worked as a general contractor well into his 80's. He was a founding member of the Home Builders Association of North Western Colorado and the Western Colorado Contractors Association, in addition to founding Monterey Apartments and OM Volunteer Fire Department. Art built many of the homes in the Grand Valley with his own two hands. Participating in his community was at the core of Arthur's life. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club for three decades, and played viola in the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra for 35 years. Music was an inspiration and joy for Art. The First United Methodist Church has been the Gilbert family's spiritual home for six generations, since 1894. Art served his entire life in the church, and his church family held a dear place in his heart. Art's most recent years, since the death of Frances, were spent with his dear friend and companion, Betty Lou Jarvis, travelling and sharing adventures. Art was known for his friendly smile, firm handshake, genuine warmth, and humor. He was very committed to being an honest and straightforward person. Art was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Frances Ruth Gilbert (see below). He is survived by a sister, Mary Leah Chavies; three children, Millard Gilbert (Dixie); Harold Gilbert (Christa), and Ruth Ripple (Edward); eight grandchildren, Larissa Gilbert, Danika Gilbert, Rebecca Wilson (Doug), Marie Williamson (Shawn), Brenda Stewart (Neal), James Gilbert (Kimberly), Laurel Carpenter (Jacob), and Logan Ripple; six great-grandchildren, Trevor and Levi Wilson, Ramona and Emmett Carpenter, Berlin Williamson, and Josephine Gilbert. A visitation will be at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Friday, April 5th from 4 - 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 6th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be April 7 at 3:00p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, 522 White Avenue. A public graveside interment service will be April 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Orchard Mesa Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado or to the Art Gilbert Memorial Fund at FUMC (First United Methodist Church).

Gilbert, Frances Ruth- Frances went to be with her Lord on November 20, 2007. She was the wife of Arthur Gilbert (see above)

Green, MaryAnn - Mary Ann and husband Ray were long time friends to Clarence and Ethel Snyder. As a kid I remember going over to the Greens house on New Year's Eve so the adults could play pinochle. They have three daughters, Carolyn, Marilee and Rosalie. They were older than me but we had fun together. Ray helped build the road with the CCC on the Colorado National Monument and he had a print shop located above what is now the Blue Moon Bar and Grill on 7th Street.

Grien, Shannon - Shannon went home to be with her Lord on October 01, 2000 after an automobile accident involving 5 other students. Shannon's friend Bert says: "Shannon was the only one to die. She was thrown through the front windshield and hit a palm tree. Shannon was one of the greatest people to ever live. I just wanna let her know how many people her death has effected. She has left a major scar on all of her friends and family. If only she could have another chance. She was only 16 years of age. She still had her whole life to live! So in this is a plea for all teens to please wear their seat belts!! WE LOVE YOU SHANNON!!"

Hamilton, William Glenn - William was born on June 13, 1929 and went home to be with his Lord at 11:28p on December 11, 1999. He was 70 years young. His loving daughter Mary says: "I know he is with God in Heaven. We loved him very much and will miss him alot but, he is finally at peace."

Harbison, Jack Lee - Jack went home to be with his Lord on December 01, 1999. He was 55 years young and had been married to his loving wife for 35 years. He leaves behind a sister, Mackie and many others who love him and greatly miss him.

Harp, Harold - Harold went home to be with our Dear Lord on June 30, 1999. He was born and raised in Henry Co. Kentucky but had lived in Aiken, S. Carolina for the past several years. His sister says: "He and I grew up together, we married brother and sister. His wife was killed in an automobile accident when his children were 3 and 4 years old. he later remarried and had 2 more children. He and his second wife were married for 40 years. I miss him terribly but I know he has gone to a better place. He was terribly sick. GO REST HIGH UPON THAT MOUNTAIN, MY DEAR BROTHER! LOVE TO YOU, Pat." Harold is greatly missed by family and friends.

Hubbard, Curtis - Curtis went to be with his Lord on February 09, 1982. His daughter says: "My father was killed in a coal mining accident. He was a Minister. He was probably the best daddy that ever was. He is missed by 3 children very bad. We all depended on him so much. It has been a long time but we never forget." He is greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.

Hubbard, Devin Allen - Devin was born January 04, 1983 and went to be with his Lord on August 14, 1997. He was killed in an automobile accident. His parents, Allen and Delzena say: "He was 14 years old and our only child. He was such a special child. We miss him more than words can describe. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
