Wiley, Dana Ann (in pink) - Dana Ann Wiley, 59, Palisade, CO was born March 7, 1950 and died Oct. 3, 2009, at The Retreat in Palisade. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Martin Mortuary. Ms. Wiley was a clerk for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Survivors include one daughter, Cherie Schmitz of Grand Junction; two brothers, Bobby of California and Norman; one sister, Maxine Wiley of Grand Junction; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dana was preceded in death by her Mother Imogene Wiley, her Father David Wiley, her twin brother David Allen Wiley and a childhood dog Sheba. Dana and I grew up together. We played kick the can til dark almost every night, we'd spend the night at each others house playing 45's and dancing and putting curlers in each others hair, we played with Barbies (our mothers making most of the clothes), we shared each others clothes, we took swimming lessons together and then every summer we argued about the babysitting jobs in the neighborhood so we could earn enough money for a season ticket for summer swimming at Lincoln Park and Moyer pools. We loved to ride our bikes up and down the street, roller skate the sidewalk and we built a gokart using a wooden crate and an old pair of roller skates with neighbor kids Kenny Hill and Rodney Hill (deceased). Dana went into the Navy and was in Hawaii. She then got married and slowly we drifted apart. I searched the internet trying to find her recently and was only a couple days from finding her when she passed away. I feel so guilty for not having looked sooner. Dana, we will always be best of friends and I will see you again on the other side one day. Miss you BFF!!!
