in the next 7-10 days. Hold would be items you are monitoring
for confirmation or follow-up/ Archive would be items to filed
in folders by topic you have handled and only maintain for future
documentation.
2. Try using Outlooks flag and follow-up tools. As you

Going Green . . .
The latest buzz word
everywhere offers an opportunity to revisit what they can bring to the next position and who they want to work for. As you package your skills for your next position look into the role green energy and ecology can play
in your profession. Be prepared to participate in the discussion of the types of activities, the partnerships and the demands
this will mean. Be practical:
- Look into courses you might take: For
example, if you have a Electrical Engineering background, consider taking an Ecology class to expand your knowledge
base.
- Research new industries
that will need your skills: Check out such websites and energy organizations
for industry leaders and future products.
- Build a network of
environment conscious contacts: Start building contacts and resources
for your future job now. Don’t wait until you get the job to get up to
speed.

Social Research . . .
the new frontier of job search and professional relationships
A new study
from Nielsen shows that “Social networking and blogging sites are now the 4th most popular activity on the Internet
(overcoming personal email) with 67% global reach as of December 2008. That is 5% more of what they attracted a year ago.
While social networks started amongst the younger audience, today’s audiences are becoming broader and older. This shift
has primarily been driven by Facebook, successfully opened opportunities of social networking to a much wider audience”. In
this recession social networks like linkedin are the frontier of job search for hidden jobs, business opportunities and career

Hot Jobs in Health Care
Health care is expected to generate more new jobs
than any other industry over the next several years. Due to an increasing number of people in older age groups, more home
health care services, nursing, and residential care is needed. Medical group practices and integrated health systems are predicted
to become larger and more complex bringing an increased need for office and administrative support workers. High job turnover,
large numbers of anticipated retirements in the industry and the slowing numbers of foreign health care workers being allowed
to enter the country also contribute to the growth of this sector. At the
same time budget restraints also open opportunities for restructuring and innovative management techniques.
References Can Make a Difference
References
can have a significant impact on the hiring decision. Just as you invest time in your resume, and cover letter, it is critical
that you reach out to your references early in your job search. Let them know
what you are doing and ask their permission to list them as a reference. Send
a brief note about the roles you are applying for along with your list of accomplishments that you believe showcase your talent. When individuals are forewarned they can be much more effective.
