Died: ABT 1790/1793 at Newberry, Dutch Forks, SC Married: ABT 1758 Setona Regina WAGMAN Note; Martin Singley made will 15 March 1780, proven 1 March 1793 (Newberry Wills A-163) leaving wife half of cleared land as long as she is single and at her death, 150 acre tract to son, Jacob Singley. A stipulation was that Jacob Singley was to pay to brother, Frederick Singley, 25 Pounds. Will mentions youngest daughter, Elizabeth who was not of age in 1780 but does not mention other daughters. Wife, Setona Regina Singley, on 23 February 1793 relinquished administration on estate to son, Jacob Singley.

John Lewis Singley, born 1822, Abbeville, SC died 28 May 1865, Union Prison, Camp Chase, Ohio. John L. Singley enlisted in Militia of Butts County, GA, was captured during the Nashville Campaign. m. Emily Jane Cole (b. abt. 1827; d. July 6, 1895) dau. of Jesse and Elizabeth Crawford Cole.

WILLIAM COLE, b. Abt. 1750, Waxhaw Settlement, North Carolina;
d. abt. 1780, Georgetown, South Carolina (British Prison Camp).
He married HANNAH UNKNOWN in Surry Co., North Carolina. She was
born abt.1753 in Sussex Co., NC.
William Cole was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and served
in the North Carolina Militia. William was captured as a spy by
two Tories (British Soldiers) and died of starvation in the
British Military prison in Georgetown, South Carolina. In the
last letter received from William by his family, he said that all
he had to eat was corn he picked up that was dropped by the horses
in the prison camp. William's widow, Hannah ? Cole married John
Combs of Ogletroup County Georgia.
Robert Cole born July 29, 1778 in Surry Co., North Carolina,
and died March 20, 1852 in Newnan, Coweta Co., Georgia. He
married ELIZABETH FAMBROUGH October 03, 1796 in Oglethorpe
Co., Georgia. She was born 1779 in Halifax, Virginia, and died
August 12, 1863 in Newnan, Coweta Co., Georgia. Both buried in
Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Robert Cole's family moved to Georgia from Surry Co., North
Carolina with his grandfather, John Cole's family. They were
in Georgia before 1784. He would have been about 6 years of
age at the time.
He married Elizabeth Fambrough in Oglethorpe Co., Georgia when
he was about 19 years old. He bought his first farm in what is
now Newton County near what is now Covington, Georgia. The farm
was 202 1/2 acres and was purchased from Prettyman Knowles who
had won the tract in the second land lottery (1807) Georgia.
This area had just been cleared of Indians and bordered
Indian Territory. Robert established a large grist mill on
Bear Creek and became rather wealthy and purchased additional
land in the area. Robert was in the Mil. in the War Of 1812.

Jesse Cole was born September 15, 1797 in Oglethorpe Co.,
Georgia, and died April 01, 1869 in Clay Co., AL. He
married ELIZABETH CRAWFORD in Jasper Co. Ga. in 1825.
Jesse was in Dodson's Co. of Williamson's 2nd GA Vols in
the Creek Indians War and Wathins' Co. of Turk's 2nd GA Mil
in the Cherokee Indian War.
