Descendants of Ambrose Mullins Sr.



10.   Ambrose Mullins b. ca 1758 Virginia - d. after 1835 Russell County, Virginia.  The name of his wife is unknown.  Ambrose Mullins was in Henry County, Virginia in 1787; Montgomery County, Virginia in 1788; Burke County, North Carolina by 1800; Russell County, Virginia by 1806; and Floyd County, Kentucky by 1810.  He moved back to Russell County, Virginia by 1817; then to Pike County (formed from Floyd County), Kentucky by 1823; and then back to Russell County, Virginia by 1835.  In his Revolutionary War pension application, Ambrose Mullins stated "I was living in Franklin County, Virginia when called into service.  I then moved to Green River, South Carolina, then to North Carolina, then to Russell County," Virginia.   "The Green River rises in SW Henderson County and flows NE into Polk County where it turns SE into the Broad River on the Polk/Rutherford line."  [The North Carolina Gazetter by William S. Powell, page 283]  Ambrose Mullins is believed to have had the following children:
