Descendants of Joshua & Anna (Robinson) Mullins


72.  Joshua Mullins b. ca 1758 Virginia - d. 8 Feb. 1851 Knox County, Kentucky md Anna Robinson/Robertson b. ca 1779 - d. after 24 July 1858 Kentucky at the house of John Robinson/Robertson 1798 in Carter County, Tennessee.  William M. Mullins stated in the widow's pension application of Anna Mullins that "he was well acquainted with Anna Mullins at the time of her marriage to Joshua Mullins" and "that he was present at the time of her marriage..."  In his Revolutionary War pension application of 13 Nov. 1828, Joshua Mullins stated that his wife was "about 44 years old and they...had 12 children born, 9 now living, 7 of whom live in his family and the oldest living with him is about 18 or 19 and able to support himself and the youngest is a daughter about 4 months old."  William M. Mullins was in the 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840, and 1850 Knox County, Kentucky censuses.  Joshua Mullins was in the 1810 and 1820 Floyd County, Kentucky censuses.  Joshua Mullins Sr. and Joshua Mullins Jr. were in Harlan County, Kentucky in 1830.  Joshua Mullins, Polly Mullins, Athaliah "Athy" (Mullins) Hayes, Jonathan Hayes, and Freelove (Mullins) Bolling were all members of the Oven Fork Church, Oven Fork, Harlan County, Kentucky which was constituted into a church on 21 Oct. 1820.  Harlan County was formed in 1819 from Knox County, Kentucky.  Joshua Mullins and his sons Caleb Mullins and Joab Mullins had moved to Knox County, Kentucky by 1840.  Joshua Mullins and Caleb Mullins are in the 1850 Knox County, Kentucky Census.  In the pension application of William Buckner, Joshua Mullins stated that he "together with Edward Polly and William Buckner enlisted for 18 months at the Pittsylvania Courthouse in the state of Virginia..."  Joshua and Anna are buried on the Lynn Camp Cemetery, Corbin, Knox County, Kentucky.  The graves are about 100 feet apart and the stones are very worn and eroded and almost unreadable.  Their daughter Sarah "Sallie" (Mullins) Sturgeon and her husband Hugh Sturgeon are also buried on the cemetery.   Their daughters Newraney and Nancy are buried on the McHargue Cemetery in Laurel County, Kentucky.  Joshua and Anna had the following children:
