Descendants of Mary Agnes (Mullins) & Edward Polly

73.  Mary Agnes Mullins b. ca 1765 Virginia - d. 24 July 1854 Ermine, Letcher County, Kentucky md Edward Polly b. 21 Dec. 1758 Halifax County, Virginia - d. 19 May 1845 Ermine, Letcher County, Kentucky, son of David & Agnes (Atkins) Polly, in 1784 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.  They are buried on the Hall/Polly Cemetery at Mayking, Kentucky.  Edward Polly served 18 months in the Virginia Line during the Revolutionary War.   In the widow's pension application of Mary Agnes Mullins, she stated she md Edward Polly "in the year of 1784...in the county of Pittsylvania, State of Virginia, and that the ceremony was performed by a Baptist minister named Bailey" and "she is the same identical person who executed a deed in connection with Edward Polly for 250 acres of land conveyed by them to one David Witcher in the county of Pittsylvania" and "her name has been alternately called & written Mary and Agnes though most generally of late called Mary..."  Joshua Mullins, b. ca 1758, stated "he was only 2 or 3 years older than Mary" which would make her born ca 1760-1761, but other records
place her born ca 1765.  In 1787, Edward Polly "sold his land in Pittsylvania County, Virginia and in 1792 moved to Carter County, Tennessee.   In her pension application, Mary stated they lived in Tennessee for 30 years.  However, an Edward Polly appears on the 1810 Floyd County, Kentucky Census."  And "it would appear they lived in Tennessee for 13 years, not 30 years.  Edward Polly Sr. is shown on Perry County, Kentucky tax lists for 1821 through 1842."  [Letter from Gwen Boyer Bjorkman]  Edward's brother David Polly also appears on the 1810 Floyd County, Kentucky Census.  Edward Polly was appointed surveyor of the road from Charles Lewis' to the mouth of Rockhouse at the 28th of March 1814 Floyd County term of court.  On 22 Oct. 1816, he registered a land warrant for 50 acres on the North Fork of the Kentucky River in Floyd County---this does not represent the actual date of settlement which in most cases was earlier.  This area became Perry County in 1821 and then Letcher County in 1842.  At the November 1823 Perry County, Kentucky term of court, Edward Polly was paid $15 for keeping Mary Mullins for 1824.  There is an Edward Polly on the 1806 Kanawha County, Virginia Tax List along with Henry Polly.  The surname Polly was also spelled Pauley and Polley.  Edward and Mary Agnes had the following children:
