Ash was the chief science aboard the nostramo. This particular model of android was recalled due to system malfunctions (contact Hyperdyne Systems  for a full refund).
He disobeyed the primary quarantine procedure when he opened the airlock and allowed Kane ,who had been infected by a Xenomorph Parasite (see Bio-Weapons Division "Facehugger") to enter the ship.
    Allegianced with the company , Ash's main directive was to keep the "Xenomorph" alive for return to the company labs, Crew Expendable.
 He lacked behavioral inhibators(now standard on all androids) and malfunctioned and attempted to harm Lt. Ripley.
He damaged in a struggle involving the crew.
    The remains of Ash where destroyed when LT Ripley detonated the engines of the NOSTRAMO.
