Frieda vs. Frieda

My other self sits beside me
Quiet and sullen
She doesn't have to say anything
I know it already.
She is conservative, pure, rigid
The way I was brought up to be
The way I am not longer.
I ran from her
And have since become dark and wanton
Full of passion and desire.

We are such different people,
She and I,
Though we share the same blood,
Wearing our hearts on the outside
For all to see.
