Pumpkins
A field of large, orange bouncing balls,
Half the rotting results of a day of execution.
Victims of the Headless Horseman,
Spilling their guts.
The promises of a fairy godmother,
Laid to waste,
Cinderella missing the chance of a lifetime.
Tempting the miserable with their failed hope.
Tasty memories of Thanksgivings long forgotten,
Desserts left behind.
