Midsummer Morn

Into the altar room the sun peeks
Unsure of its welcome
Even on this one day of the year.
Midsummer morn, dawning on Stonehenge,
Those great monoliths of stone
Weathered by time, yet still able to inspire awe
As in days of old
When Pagan Celts,
Through the power of Nature,
Worshipped their Gods.
