Joseph Belmont finishes widdling away on the last wooden stake he will make before getting out on his way to Transylvania. He puts the stake with his 4 others that are at his side, then he checks his other inventory. He inspects the leather whip, making sure its strong enough to destroy the legions of vampires, werewolves, skeletons, bats, banshees and so on that are crawling just outside his door. He then checks his 9mm pistol, complete with silver bullets. Then he gets out a sack and fills it with garlic, he isn't sure if the legend about vampires hating garlic is true or not, but he will have to find out. At the window, a werewolf comes up and breaks it, and is maniacally trying to claw his way in. Joseph, without hesitating, grabs the leather whip and with 2 smacks, kills the beast. "My first kill" says Joseph. Before he leaves, Joseph gets on his knees to pray for protection, "Dear Lord, I pray that you give me the strength to kill the Necromancer that controls the countryside, Dracula, and that you spare the souls of those who are under his mind control that I will have to destroy. I pray that my dear Marie is alright when I do get to the Castle of Vlad Tepes in Wallachia. But most of all I pray for the inner strength to get through it all, that I may defeat the evil that has spread over the area, in Christs name I pray, AMEN. With that, Joseph Belmont sighs, takes a deep breath, and walks out of the door of the inn in Jova, towards the gigantic castle that looms in the background.

Through the bountiful hills covered with dense forest a lone house lights a single glimmer in the view of all. Nearing the house is numerous trails and tracks not of any man or beast. Inside slight footsteps are heard then abruptly stopped as a man stairs at an ancient book.Necromnicon Further ahead of the house the dense forest breaks to a flat meadow. Towards the end of this meadow lies a large steel gate rusted over time. Transylvania is one of the few remaining places of vegetation after man finally destroyed itself. The meadow's grass and the light wind dance and fill the air with perfect tranquility allowing the assumption of peace and sanqtuarary. Past the gate and further into this deep land the master sleeps. The cresent moon shines down apon this masters tomb.. Author: DEATHSPORK Subject: C2000IS: Setting Off Posted: APRIL 15, 1999 10:22 ~CRACK!~ The skeleton who was a mindless Dracula drone lay in pieces on the cold damp ground. Joseph Belmont was getting used to killing them by now. He looks back up at the looming castle that sticks up into the night skyline, and continues on, with Maria on his mind.

As he is exitting the town of Jova, he hears a rustling in the nearby forest. It sounds like an animal of some sort, and he can hear him snorting. Joseph is astonished when a 15 foot tall oxen walks out, and lets loose a mighty RRRROOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR. Joseph pulls his whip out in anticipation, this is the first enemy of this size and strength that he has ever had to fight. The ox tries to trample Joseph, but he jumps out of the way of the stampede at the last second. He relunctantly throws a jar of holy water, burning a hole in the monsters thick flesh, whom begins bleeding poison. Belmont cracks open the beasts nose with a swipe of the whip, and the ox is infuriated. He shoots out a massive beam of light energy, which cripples Joseph Belmont. Now the ox is headed right for him and he cant get up, he'll have to act quickly. He pulls out a wooden stake and lunges it with all of his power at the monster, piercing his heart, sending the evil incarnation back to hell.

As Joseph gets up to get his stake back, he hears a demonic sound, and turns around to see a portal opening up. He is in awe when he sees the Grim Reaper. "Very good. You Belmont scum always were good at that sort of thing. But you have never been smart enough to turn back, for if you continue, you will surely die". "Go away, evil spirit, I would go through Heaven and Hell to see my dear Maria." says Joseph back to him. "As you wish. I will meet up with you later, MWA HAH HAH HAH" with that the Grim Reaper goes back to where he came from. Joseph Belmont tries to forget the whole ordeal, and he continues onward.

Author: DEATHSPORK Subject: C2000IS: A lone accompli (1/2) Posted: APRIL 17, 1999 22:27 Joseph Belmont had waded through the masses of skeletons and werewolves for hours now and had finally made it to the tall, spiked gate with demon statues sitting on top, leading to the courtyard of Castlevania. The black gate eerily slides open slowly and Joseph relunctantly walks through, keeping his eyes and ears open for more monsters.

As he was walking over the dead plants on the floor of the garden outside Castlevania, Joseph heres a noise on one of the tall statues keeping watch over the castle of the necromancer. He peeks around the statue, to see a bug eyed demon crouched down eating the remains of an unlucky villager. The demon growls, lowly at first, then increasingly louder. Joseph gets one hand on his whip, but before he can pull it out, the demon drops his meal of flesh and jumps on Joseph, clinging to his shoulders, hellaciously mauling Belmonts face. Joseph cannot stand it, and pulls out his dagger and franticly slashes the demon freak across the neck and chest. The demon falls to the floor, this time Joseph gets his whip out. The demon jumps at Joseph Belmont once again, but this time his face is cracked open in midair by the power of the coveted Belmon whip. The sheer force of the whip sends the wretched incarnation whirling to the ground. The demon is yelping loudly, acting like a run-over dog, as he is dripping green and red ooze from his face. Joseph gives him a few more cracks from his whip, and the demon is jumping around wildly. Joseph finally finishes the beast off by using one of his holy water flasks.

"Back to hell you go, you unholy decedant" says Joseph as the beast snarls, evaporating in a blue-green flame. Suddenly, a high pitched scream pierces the black night. As Joseph turns around, he is astonished to see the meal of the demon he had just wasted up and running for him. When the undead beast was only a few feet from him, out of nowhere flew a dagger, sticking the she-demon through the head and saving Joseph from almost certain death. He looks to his left to see a man with a bandana, a big bulky scarf, a katana, gold cross around his neck and a row of garlics on his belt. Obviously a vampire killer.

"This is no place for anyone to be right now, unless you are a demon or a brave, brave man" says the mysterious man.

"Don't worry about me. I can more than handle myself around here" replies Joseph.

"Well thats not what it looked like to me. That she-demon was about to eat you alive"

"HAH!" says Joseph proudly, "I was just about to finish her off when you threw that dagger"

//sarcasticly// "MMM HHHMM. Look, you should just leave and let me do all of the vampire killing around here"

"Like I said before, I can handle myself. I will destroy Dracula and save my loved one, while restoring honor to my family name"

Astonished at Josephs apparent ignorance, the wanderer replies "Dracula? HAH. But if you wish to be killed, so be it. Next time though, I will not be around to keep any vampires from mauling you to death. I'll be off now". With that the man walks off.

"I know I can do it, thats all that matters" mutters Joseph to himself. He watches the only human he has seen in weeks fade into a small black dot against the nightline, and continues onward toward the entrance to Castlevania, wondering if he will meet up with that man again.

Author: DEATHSPORK Subject: C2KIS: Inside the castle (1/2) Posted: APRIL 18, 1999 17:28 Joseph was a little intimidated about going into the castle, but he knew that he had to. He took a deep breath, exhaled, and stepped in, with his whip ready.

The air in Castlevania was stuffy, and unaerated, making it hard to breathe. Joseph inspected the creepy surroundings of the large first room in Draculas castle. He looked up to see skeletons hanging from the high ceiling. On the brick floor were a few of Draculas unfortunate victims, impaled on spears which came from the ground, the flesh still on the bone, but slowly sliding off. The far wall was littered with gothic paintings, and leaning against the walls were stone statues of banshees, ogres, vampires, and mummies.

"Sick.." was all that Joseph Belmont could say, in response to his surroundings. He walked up to a 7 foot tall suit of armor and begins inspecting it, it seems to be made of diamonds and jade. As Belmont inspects the helmet, he hears a clicking, and notices the armor moving. Suddenly, a green glow begins to eminate from the inside of the hollow suit, and Joseph jumps back, pulling his whip out in wait. Suddenly, without warning, the eerie armor springs to life and swings his massive sword at Joseph, who is fortunate enough to roll out of the way. Joseph sees his chance, and cracks his whip at the diamond soldier, but the effects are not substantial. The armor, unhurt, comes back at Belmont, this time sticking him in the leg with a swing of his sword. Joseph lets out a yelp of pain, then recovers and tries to concentrate on the opponent at hand. Joseph pulls out a holy water flask, and throws it at the armor. That keeps the opponent still long enough for Joseph to load a silver bullet into his 9MM and shoot the ghostly enemy through the chest. The power of the silver bullet seems to work, and the armor goes limp again and falls to the ground, lifeless. Joseph looks at his leather whip.

"This thing won't cut it in here. I better go get a stronger whip" he says to himself, then he walks out of the gigantic castle to search the area for a more powerful whip. He will have to find one if he wants to make it through Castlevania alive.

Author: MYRIA99 Subject: c2000is - OK you asked f (1/2) Posted: APRIL 18, 1999 17:38 Joseph Belmont had wandered endlessly in the maze-like forest outside Castlevania for days. What had happened to Maria and the other village women who mysteriously vanished in recent months? He shuttered to think of the grim possibilities! "Almost sun-down, I better get going" he thought as he broke camp and readied himself for another night on his guard. He had been traveling at night and sleeping during the day in hopes that the warm, bright, heavenly rays of sun would keep at least some of the unholy creatures in Dracula's employ at bay while he rested. "Maria, where are you now? Are you safe? May God protect you from these demons until I can come to your aid!!" he implored silently as he picked up his pack heavy with vampire killing supplies, and hoisted it to his left shoulder. For once, he had not encountered one beast all night and it was a mere three hours before sunrise was due. "It's too quiet," he thought nervously as he neared a clearing in the forest. "I must be going mad!" he said out loud as he thought he could hear the faint sounds of music and dance coming from the woods to the south of him. "Who could be out here, so close to Castlevania? What fools would dare tread so close to the lair of the Evil Prince?" Curiousity got the best of him as he crept closer to the source of the sounds. At first he thought they might be gypsies, but then, he reasoned that gypsies were far too susperstitious to come into this haunted wood. As he drew closer to the sound, he found that it was beginning to resemble.. chanting! Joseph realized that he was probably hearing a witching ceremony of some sort, but he knew that he must investigate further, leaving no where unsearched for his beloved Maria. He crawled cautiously closer to the bush in front of him and peeked through. Yes, there were women in dark robes praying and cahanting to the fire. At the rear of the circle was a woman bound and gagged lying on the ground. "It could be Maria!!" Joseph thought with alarm. "I have to save her... but how?"

This is the second most recent chapter in the C2KIS. Joseph stared at the circle of witches, pondering his options. He had no idea what powers they possessed, and whether he could defeat them and save Maria. he also knew his whip was no match for the demons he had encountered. If he tried to save her, the witches could kill her. If he didn't save her, she could be lost to darkness forever. Though he briefly considered his problem, thinking wasn't one of his greatest skills. He decided to do what he did best, pulled his gun from its holster, leveled it at one of the witches, and shot her head off. The other witches stopped their hypnotic dance, stunned at the death of their comrade. As they stood in shock, Joseph quickly shot and killed two more. The remaining witches were brough back to their senses by the imminent danger and fled into the woods. The witches were apparently not supernatural, but merely humans who worshiped evil. After the other witches fled, Maria turned and looked directly at Joseph, though he was hidden in the darkness of the forest and virtually invisible. After Joseph's vision met her black, dead eyes, she disappeared into the darkness. Joseph quickly ran up to the fire that the witches had danced around before and saw no evidence of her. "Maria!," he shouted. "Maria, can you hear me!" He then briefly searched the woods around the area, but despite that he had skill as a tracker, could not determine which of the many paths around the area was freshest. The area was apparently very well traveled. "Demons!," he yelled, so loud one might worry his throut would rupture, "I'll destroy you for this!" However, he felt powerless. he didn't know what to do next. He didn't know whether Maria was still alive, or if she could be saved if she was. He decided pragmatically that he wouldn't be able to save her until he could find her again, and until then he'd have other problems to overcome.

Author: ALUCARDFTEPES Subject: Repost no 2, 'The Stranger' Posted: MAY 12, 1999 18:12 Joseph wandered aimlessly in the forest until dawn with still no sign of Maria or the other missing women. He thought back to the encounter where his leather whip hardly phased the enemy. "What will I do when I meet the Dark Lord himself? I doubt even silver bullets will phase such a devilish creature!" he thought to himself. "Yes, my friend, you DO need help .." an old cackling voice said from behind him. He turned quickly, drawing his revolver as he did so. Before him, stood a a withered, frail-looking old man with a long white beard and raggy looking clothes. "Oh!" Joseph exclaimed as a foul odor accosted his nostrils. It seemed evident the old guy hadn't bathed in days ... maybe even weeks! "What is a frail little old man like you doing at the foot of Dracula's domain?" he questioned, fighting the impulse to gag at the old man's stench. "Frail!!" the old man shouted, "Who are you calling frail? It was not I who was nearly killed a few nights ago at the hands of the mighty beast. Or last night, buy the witches of the Society of Dracula!" The old man started mumbling... "He calls me frail!! Arrogant little..." "Look, I thought I handled the witches pretty well, seeing as they are dead and I am still alive!" Joseph reasoned. "Maybe not for long... You don't have what it takes to defeat Dracula, Go home! Train until you are worthy!" "What do YOU know of Dracula?" Joseph inquired. "Enough! Begone from here, CHILD!" In the next instant, Joseph found himself engulfed in a purple mist and in the next, at the entrance to the forest again! As sunrise warmed his body and drove the chill from his soul, he had to wonder who was the old stranger, and what was his connection to The Dark Prince?

Author: MYRIA99 Subject: CS2000 the original Posted: MAY 18, 1999 19:37 When we last saw Joseph Belmont, he had just been transported back to the entrance of the Forest of Silence by a mysterious old man who told him that he was not a worthy challenge to the Dark Prince. Seeing as he was already back at the entrance, and remembering his recent brushes with near-death, like the coven of witches and the great furry beast with wich he had already wrestled, he decided that he needed something more than his pistol and courage to face the vile fiend and his minions at Castlevania. On his way back to the village, he couldn't help but feel as though he was being followed. Each time he would look back and nothing was there, but he had this feeling....like someone or something was watching him. Suddenly, he felt a cold damp breeze cut across the back of his neck! He felt his body seize with a foreboding he never felt before! He forced himself to turn toward the source, and saw nothing. It was then that he noticed a towering black fir tree with a strange opening in it's trunk. It looked just big enough for a man to fit into! As he drew closer to the its large round trunk, he could feel the cold draft getting stronger. "That wind seems to be coming from inside..." he thought, pondering whether or not to investigate..... Then he heard a young woman's voice call to him. "Joseph...." the strange voice beckoned "It sounds like... could it be... Maria?!" Joseph thought to himself.........

Author: MYRIA99 Subject: cs2000 - attacked! (1/2) Posted: MAY 20, 1999 19:59 Geraos rushed headlong at Joseph! Geraos flew at the young Belmont, tackling him and driving him hard to the cold damp ground. Although he couldn't see well in the dimly lit cavern, Belmont's other senses told him a lot. Geraos was right on top of him as he could feel his hot breath on his face. Belmont's ears could also detect the faint hint of a growl from Geraos, but it was a different kind of growl than a man usually makes even engaged in a frantic struggle... Joseph felt the man grab his throat and start squeezing. Belmont choked violently as he felt his windpipe slowly flexing to his enemy's great strength. As he felt Geraos' huge, meaty hands constrict further around his neck, he knew he had seconds before his windpipe would finally succumb to this brute force and collapse swiftly bringing his end! It was difficult to think while fighting off the panic of not being able to breathe and the pain of this great brute, who was nearly twice his build and weight, crushing him beaneath. Then Joseph remembered a small dagger he had tucked in his belt! He struggled to squeeze his hand beneath Geraos' body and reach the handle. It took every ounce of his willpower to stay conscious as he fought the pain and blackness that was threatening to overwhelm him. Just as he thought it was too late, he felt the dagger and drew it out to the side. With a mighty lunge of desparation, he buried the dagger deep into his enemy's right rib cage. Geraos screamed with fury and pain! His hold on Joseph released as he grabbed his side with one hand. Belmont seized the opportunity to smash Geraos right across the nose with his fist! Another cry escaped Geraos as Joseph forced his way out from under the brute, stumbling akwardly to the side of the cavern. Geraos' face was covered with blood, and he roared in agony and rage! Joseph still trying to recover from almost being strangled, fumbled for his revolver as his enemy rushed toward him once more. "Now you've made me angry!!" Geraos bellowed, "I'll tear you apart!!!!" Then Geraos' outline seemed to get bigger. Joseph wasn't sure if he was just weak from lack of oxygen, but Geraos had appeared to have just grown three feet in height and put on 100 pounds! That wasn't all! He was appearing to get more hairy and.... good God! He looked like a giant ...wolf?!?

Author: MYRIA99 Subject: CS2000 - Revelation (1/3) Posted: MAY 21, 1999 20:11 Joseph felt the cold, damp earth against his body as the pain dragged him into consciousness. His body shivered uncontrollably and his his body contorted in pain. "Rest easy now," a female voice told him assuringly, "You are going to be alright, Belmont." Joseph groaned as the pain numbed his brain for a moment and his head dropped back to the ground abruptly. He started up suddenly, reaching for a weapon, but finding none. He felt an overwhelming confusion stopping him from determining if this was friend or foe. He quickly lashed an arm at the source of the voice, but he felt it make no contact. "Easy!" she assured him in a startled tone, "I'm not your enemy! Look!" As he strained to open his eyes, he saw the form of a very petite girl with short blonde hair in a pink dress slowly coming into focus. In her hand he saw her holding out a gleaming object. As he strained to focus, the shape of the holy cross came into his view. "Now could any creature of this God forsaken forest bear to even LOOK at this holy cross?" she reasoned, her tone calming once again. He laid back on the ground with more assurance, but many questions. His head hurt so much, and he still felt a burning weakness all over his body. His left shoulder still pained him greatly. He touched it and noticed it was wrapped in a kerchief. Despite his great discomfort, he still needed asnwers. "Who--who ARE you? What happened? Where did you come from? What are you doing here?" he questioned her again trying to sit up, and wincing in pain from his efforts. "Whoa! " she replied in surprise, " So many questions for a man who nearly bled to death an hour ago... I'll answer your questions..." She assured him, gently pushing his half raised body back to the ground, "But lie back now, you must be still while I finish tending your wounds." Joseph realized how weak he was when her gentle push against his chest put him back on the ground with little effort on her part. He silently prayed that she wasn't yet another enemy and listened to her explaination. "My name is Michella Fernandez, I am here for the same purpose as you." "I sincerely doubt that!" Joseph replied knowing that he was here mainly to collect his beloved Maria and escape! "You are a Belmont are you not? What other purpose could you have than to destroy Dracula?" "How do you know who I am?" "I could feel it in your aura, as soon as I touched you. Besides who else besides a Belmont could fight so valiantly against such a foe and live to tell about it?" she replied. "You SAW Geraos?" "Yes, I drove him off, too," "WHAT!?!" "Of course! He knew better than to tangle with a Fernandez, especially when he was already weakened by YOUR attack," She answered him, applying another cloth to a wound on his right leg. At first, Joseph thought she was quite an arrogant young woman, but them he remembered an old tale told to him by his great- grandfather about an ancestor named Reinhart Schnieder and a young girl named Carrie Fernandez who fought Dracula long ago. The two of them worked as a team to beat the Dark Prince.... but, surely, this could not be a girl of THE Fernandez clan? According to his great-grandfather, the Fernandez were a clan of good witches embued with magical powers to protect mortals from foes like Dracula. "YOU are a Fernandez? As in Carrie Fernandez?" "That was my great-great grandmother!" she exclaimed, "So you MUST be the great-great grandson of Reinhart Schneider! I KNEW it!" "But that doesn't explain what happened?" "Well, I knew there was something going on with that tree
