METHOS: Duncan's nemesis, Kalas, has returned with a new plan for conquest. Rather than willy-nilly lopping the heads of any old immortal he can find, Kallas wants a more direct approach: find the oldest immortal and take *his* head, thereby gaining instant power and -- perhaps -- instant invinsibility. He heads to Paris, in search of the mythic Methos, considered by most to be merely legend: five thousand years of cunning, craft, and swordsmanship all neatly wrapped in one elusive package. Duncan, realizing the danger, follows Kalas and his trail of murdered Watchers. He finds Methos hiding in plain site: a Watcher himself, keeping track of The Game from a comfortable distance. But if Duncan is surprised to meet this apparently unassuming young man, he is even more surprised to find that the ancient Immortal has a death wish -- and a proposition. Methos, lacking the passion to kill after so many years, will only defeat Kalas through Duncan's sword -- Duncan must take Methos' head.

Duncan: Adam? Adam Pierson? You Adam Pierson?

Methos: Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. Have a beer. Mi casa es su casa.

Duncan: Methos?

Duncan: I just didn't think you existed.

Methos: Ah, it's good to be a myth.

Duncan: Yeah, no one hunts for a myth. Or a Watcher.

Methos: What better place to hide? I'm in charge of finding myself, and I make sure it never happens.

Methos: Hey, I may be a bit rusty but I'm still here.

Duncan: Well, let's keep it that way. I'll stay close.

Methos: You cannot fight my battles for me, MacLeod.

Methos: You should have been there.

Duncan: No! [Throws down his sword.]

Methos: I'd have killed you.

Duncan: No, you would have made a mistake and then let me take your head.

Methos: You think I wanna die? Do you think it's easy after thousands of years?... I cannot beat him. I have tried. He will take my head and then he will have the strength to take yours.

Duncan: So after 5000 years, your only solution is that I kill you?

Methos: He can beat me. He might beat you. He can't beat both of us.
