Home About Jacq Graham Family Sanfilippo You Can Help

Jacqueline Patricia Graham

Jacqueline was born at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula on June 28, 1995 and lives in Salinas, California with her step mom, Toni, father, Greg and sister, Kelli.

Jacqueline had been developing normally up until her second birthday.  After that time we began to notice a loss of speech, she began staring into space, could no longer recite abc's and was forgetting other things she had previously learned.  At no time were we able to teach her to ride a tricycle.  Her attention span began to decrease at an alarming rate and we noticed she was falling down a lot.  At age 2 she was almost completely potty trained.  By age 3 she had regressed and is now wearing pull-ups.

When Jacqueline was 3 years old she started preschool at Melody Park Christian School.   We put Jacqueline in pre-school hoping that she would be able to re-learn what she had lost.  She was able to re-learn her abc's, but has continued to regress in other areas.  On August 31, 1999 Jacqueline began a variety of tests to determine why she was regressing. After a battery of tests and Jacqueline's subsequent diagnosis of Sanfilippo, she is now attending Bard Blades, which is a state run school for handicapped children.

In spite of all Jaqueline's problems she is a joy to have around.  She is a very happy child, and loves her sister Kelli.

We encourage all parents of children with handicaps to contact their state agencies to determine what help is available to them.  Also, check with your school district as they will be able to provide you with this information.
