What is this program?
AVG Antivirus version 6 (and newer versions, including the newest AVG 7 Free edition) has a scheduler built in to support automatic updates. The problem with this scheduler is that it only runs at the specified time. If your computer was not on at the time you scheduled, the update will not occur. This could leave your computer vulnerable for an unknown length of time, until the update finally occured. To solve this problem, I wrote a small program which will run when windows is started and check for updates. It works very similarly to Norton Antivirus' updater. It will warn you upon startup if it is time to update.

What it can do (short version)
Run AVG AntiVirus update mechanism at specified intervals (day-by-day, on startup, or on the specified # of days).

How to use it
- Simply download the installer below. It is large because it includes the needed VB runtime files. Don't worry, if you don't need them, they won't be installed.
- Now run the installation.
- A menu group will be created and a shortcut will be added to your start menu. If you require the Microsoft Visual Basic run time files, your computer may need to be rebooted.
- If you unchecked the "Run AVG Updater now" checkbox on the final screen of the installation, then the updater will run the next time you start Windows.
- To set up the updater, you must select the location of where AVG AntiVirus was installed. This should be the location of the file AVGINET.EXE which is needed for this program to run. Also, select the number of days between updates.
- Unless you leave your computer on for days at a time, you will no longer need the "Allow Scheduled Updates" option under "Update Manager" checked in AVG Control Panel; so go ahead and make sure it is unchecked.

License
Plain and simple... this program is freeware. I have no affiliation with Grisoft. Please do not refer my program to them or refer to them for any help. I have no control over the updates that AVG performs. Therefore, if one damages your system, do not come to me. I will not help. My program simply acts as a front-end interface for AVG's update mechanism.
