Welcome to the CYCA Sunday League Curling web site.
03/21/01 Site back up! We received the following from Tripod last evening explaining our outage over the weekend:
Final Skins Results are posted. CONGRATULATIONS! To the Steven Rustad and Lance Brault teams for winning the Junior and Intermediate trophies (respectively). We are looking forward to seeing you all back next year. It was a pleasure running the draw again this year for a great group like yourselves. Chris & Steve
02/18/01 Congratulations! Two CYCA teams today earned berths to the IYCC Provincial Playdowns... Teams skipped by Maria Bushell and J.D. Lind are on their way to Red Deer March 9-11.
02/05/01 Congratulations to six CYCA Sunday league teams who earned berths at the IYCC Districts this past weekend: Teams skipped by Maria Bushell, Lindsay Blyth, Lindsay Read, Derek Chyz, David Hall and J.D. Lind all move on to the Southern playdowns at the Calgary Curling Club in two weeks.
01/23/01 There have been two games cancelled in this round without notifying the drawmaster. When the cancellation is not received by Thursday evening per the rules, the ice is not cancelled for Sunday morning. Therefore ice rental for a make-up game cannot be covered by CYCA and the cancelling team shall default the game if a make-up is not arranged by the end of the round. Please be sure if at all possible to let you opponent and myself know if a game must be postponed, in order for me to cancel the ice and for you to be assured of at least a single point if the game is not played.
01/09/01 Final Round 2 standings are posted. The full Round 3 draw is now posted under the games section. Tiebreakers: Note there were several tiebreaker procedures necessary which had an impact on who moved up and down. Colwell-Spensley and Coleman-Nicholson had to be decided based on the total season record to date. Lindsay-Carr, Montgomery-Lim, Brault-Bushell, McKnight-McMahon and K.Brown-Bisson were broken based on head-to-head games in round 2.
12/18/00 Division shuffling after game 5: In each division, the top two move up and the bottom two move down. Ties will be broken where necessary by head-to-head records, and if that game was a tie, then we will consider the record against higher ranked teams and then overall season record.
12/11/00 Congratulations to the 10 CYCA Sunday teams who played in the Southern playdowns in Lethbridge. We came very close to having a CYCA team reach provincials, with two of our teams (Steven Rustad and Lindsay Blyth) reaching qualifying games. Junior women: Leah Lim, Jenny Guthrie, Shana Barrett, Lindsay Blyth, Valerie Hamende and Nicole Jacques. Junior Men: Steven Rustad, Chris Adam, David Hall, and James Brown.
11/19/00
A & B teams please note: A list of rules to be covered in upcoming "Tip Time" sessions is here.
10/31/00 Coaches: There may be some confusion over the buzzer sounded before the end of the games. Here is the longstanding CYCA Sunday rule:
This may be different from the rule used at some other clubs and leagues which you might be used to. To be fair to all, please be sure to apply the rule correctly.
10/16/00 Reminder: Postponements must be reported to your opponent and to the drawmaster by the Thursday evening before the game. Not only does that ensure the cancelling team a single point, but it also allows CYCA to pay for the ice used in the make-up game.
08/31/00 If you know of any curling related web sites would you please take a moment and add it to our list. This can be done under the links section. Just click the button "Add your own link". Thank you.
08/25/00 The opening day of the CYCA Sunday League Curling web site. Our purpose of this new location is to provide a quick and effective way to access information required by you, the curlers. My personal goal to this web site is it constantly keep this site up to date during the curling season.
