Two years ago I wrote a story about a remarkable boy with a severe facial deformity. He was operated on at Boston Children's Hospital. The series of stories went onto win the Pulitzer Prize. I was asked by people across the country to keep them updated on the boy. I am posting here, because many of the readers came from a group such as this wanted to let you know that I have written a book that goes into more detail about the boy and -- more importantly -- what happened to him after he slipped into a coma. What took place is a testament to this boy's courage, his family's love and the faith of a brilliant pediatric neurosurgeon. The book is SAM: THE BOY BEHIND THE MASK. It is being published by G. P. Putnam's Sons. You can find the book in your local store, or at this link: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0399149333/qid=1034108518/sr=8 -1/ref=sr_8_1/002-6025816-3361643?v=glance I continue to get hope and strength from Sam Lightner's story, I hope you will..
