V/A--American Youth Report

My punk roots grow in the soil of early LA hardcore, and this comp is an awesome cross section of so many of the bands who made that scene what it was (if you look past The Germs, Black Flag, and The Circle Jerks. Okay, so maybe Bad Religion bite today, their contribution here kicks ass. As does the song from Redd Kross, caught here before they became self-indulgent psychedelic rock stars. There are a lot of names you've heard, Channel 3, TSOL, Rhino 39, and The Descendents. And there are also some great songs from bands that weren't as well known, like M. I. A., Shattered Faith, and RF7. Damn, every song on this comp kicks ass! Well, except for maybe that Flesheaters song . . .
