BOS Alex Cora
Second Baseman | Boston Red Sox

Hitting
With his slap-hitting approach, Cora always hits like he already has two strikes. The results are usually groundballs or line drives to the opposite field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Alex Cora to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
His arm and range are average, and he has a tendency to get lazy with his feet. Cora is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2004 Outlook
One has to wonder what Alex Cora is doing in AA. In all honesty, he could use a lot of work on the fundamentals in the low minors.
