Welcome to Tia's School of Dance. We are so happy you have joined us today.

First a little background on our incredibly talented instructor and choreographer:

Tia started her own dancing career when she was 6 years old with the Milpitas Dance Theater. She joined the Santa Clara Ballet Company when she was 10 years old. At age 11 she started touring with the company. They performed "Sleeping Beauty" in Canada, and "The Nutcracker" in New Mexico, Nevada, and California.
In 1989 Tia's family moved from the Bay Area to beautiful Georgetown, CA. Following her family's relocation to Georgetown, Tia began performing with the Academy of Ballet in Placerville and has danced major parts in all of their productions. The Lilac Fairy in their production of "Sleeping Beauty" was her favorite role. She also has filled in as teacher at the Academy when necessary.
In 1991 Tia performed in Theatre El Dorado's production of "Not Even A Mouse" written and directed by Lucy D' Mot. She and best friend Dani Wright also did a New Year's Eve floor-show of jazz dances for the band "Pure Fire".
She had sustained through her years of dancing some minor injuries that kept her from dancing professionally. However, she still had a great passion for dancing, and under the advice of one of her High School Teachers (Mr. DePue) she opened a dance studio: Tia's School of Dance, in the Spring of 1993.
Since that time, Tia has had great success with her studio, students, and the performances that the School has put on. In fact 5 of her students have been featured within the last 2 years in the Sacramento Ballet's Nutcracker.
Tia is also now teaching and taking Ballet classes herself at the Sacramento Academy of Dance.
She recently performed in the Academy's "La Petite Nutcracker" as "The Rose" in "Waltz of the Flowers" and as a "snowflake".
