Strike/Assault Fighter "A"

assaultfightertb.jpg

Above...a  design  for  an  Assault  fighter,  the Thunderstar.  This  craft  is  intended  as  a  fast  strike, hit  and  run  fighter.  It  has  4  h.p.  pulse  cannons  mounted  on  it's  wings,  two  more  (  aft  fireing  ) under  it's  engines,  with   the  added  protection  of   a  ball-turrett  above.   Add  to  this,  an  interchangable   assortment  of  missiles   and  bombs  that  it  can  carry.
The  craft  also  has  an  improvement  in  it's  basic  aero  package...Swing  wings.  In  standard  space  flight,  these  wings  are  folded  back  as  they  are  not  needed,  but  for  atmospheric  runs,  they  shift  forward  for  better  lift.   The  fighter  is  designed  for  two  people  in  the  cockpit,  and  one  more  in  the  turrett.
