It was now the year 2236...and in that year, we would would discover Eden...by way of Hell. Pandora would
be gone.
The winter of 2236 found
the E.D.F.'s golden child, " Pandora " on the other side of the
Milky-way galaxy. Light years from anywhere we had ever been.
This day, January 13, E.S.C. ( Earth Standard Calender.) would
be both fantastic and horrific.
It was on that day, that E.D.F. would last
hear from it's ambassador of the stars...The Pandora. Her last
message was sent on the 13th...recieved via relay buoy the next
day. It was this communication that would set into motion,
one of the worst conflicts in modern times.
Pandora reported that she had recieved a
distress signal from another starship... From an unknown race, the Tunisians.
They had come under attack, and were pleeding for assistance from
anyone in ear-shot. The Pandora debated only a minute, and set
course to intercept , gearing up to General Quarters....That was
the last transmission.
The E.D.F. brass argued behind closed doors for
the better part of a week over the transmission...And what it
should do. Should we get involved? And, if so...what would be
the consciquence of our action? Not to any-one's surprise, the
strongest arguement came from Admiral Lord. This time, the fire
burning in council chamber was really hot. The " Ostrich patrol " was
doing what it did best, looking in the other direction. Lord would
hold nothing back...( over the past few years, he had been
itching to get back into a starship...for any reason. ) And the
Arguement was valid...What the hell's the E.D.F. set up for?
Sure we protect ourselves...but part of our resposibility is to
help others when asked...But the final nail was this...The Pandora's
Captain, Duke Harrington had made a decission to help. He
involved the E.D.F. The fuse was allready lit. Now, which ships
to be sent...?
For years, there have been members of the
high brass who have looked for ways to rid themselves of Maxx
Lord. Now that it was going to happen, These people felt
a great mistake waiting to happen. The Admiral had taken
it uppon himself to assume command of the expidition fleet,
choosing two of his newest, fastest ships...The "New York" and
his flag ship, "Thunder-child." The ships set off on January
27th...Heading for the last know position of the Pandora. With
the new Hyper-Wave engines, it would take far less time to
reach this point. Also considdering the trip a straight shot,
as apossed to Pandora's neandering exloration route.
Above, Admeral Lord's "fleet" of two ships...The
"New York",and the flagship "Thunder-Child"...These ships were picks as they were both brand new, and possessed the Hyper-Wave
engines that would shorten the time neede to reach the "Pandora's" last known position.
