I lead the Innovation strategy for a 400+ strong GE Transportation India Engineering organization. In my role, I mentor teams to come up with ideas, mature these by connecting with right business contacts and get funded to become products of tomorrow. I am also Leading a global team on developing the Architecture of a robust, scaleable embedded Prognostics Platform (based on PREDIX) for Rail applications.
I joined GE in 2000 and for 15 years have been part of Research, Energy and Transportation teams working out of India and USA. My background is in developing Enterprise Software in Java and in my current role gaining Embedded Software expertise. Also, getting opportunity to stay hands on in Python, R, Android and C++ developing quick working prototypes using GE FASTWORKS approach.

- Senior Systems Engineer at GE Energy (Norfolk, VA) :
Architect for SOA-based Integration platform designed to host next-gen Software applications based on a Common Information Model.
This Platform is being leveraged by GE's SmartGrid solutions, Power Plant applications and Turbine Controls teams.
The platform is based on Java, ESB, OSGi, JSF Technologies and leveraging OpenSource tools like Apache ServiceMix, Camel, ActiveMQ.
Part of a global (USA, India, UK) development team, following Agile methodology and leveraging a private Cloud infrastructure for development.
Worked on extending this integration platform to Power Generation applications - to provide a Software Layer for GE Controls.
Leveraging standards like ISA-95, MIMOSA, OpenO&M to define the PowerGen canonical model. Developed Java based OPC-UA interface to exchange
data with external Systems. Also developed adapters for MIMOSA OSA-CBM and Process Historians.
Setup Software development team at Hyderabad, India and incubated their processes and programs.
- Chief Architect at GE Energy (Norfolk, VA) :
Developed the Technology Roadmap for the Gas Turbine Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics (RM&D) business.
Maintained the overall System Architecture and initiated synergy programs for Common User Interface and Rules Platform.
Actively worked with Strategic and Product teams to define the long-term Technology plan.
Provided Technical direction to Software teams through Design and code reviews.
Set up processes for early identification of Design defects and improve Software Quality.
- Lead Design Engineer at GE Energy (Norfolk, VA) :
Lead the development of key modules of the Condition Monitoring Software called CCAP (earlier known as ICAS).
Developed the Java-based CCAP Portal that manages remote deployment of Rule-Sets and Configuration to more than 500 sites across the world.
Worked on a distributed intelligence strategy for deploying Rules to remote sites and to the central System.
Worked as an interface between Engineering and Software teams to help translate Business requirements into Product features.
- Research Engineer at GE Global Research (Bangalore) :
Lead the development of Knowledge-based Configurator tools that capture design knowledge and influence the geometry of locomotive CAD models (in Unigraphics).
Lead the process of interviewing design Engineers, studying past designs, manufacturing drawings, product manuals and capturing this Knowledge into the System.
Leveraged Knowledge Fusion as the knowledge management tool. Worked as onsite coordinator at GE Rail facility in Erie, PA leading a global team of GE Engineers and Drafters.
