Keiko Ishikawa loved to help her grandmother, whom she called Obachon, with Japanese brush painting as a child (Violations).  She later studied and trained as a botanist, and was assigned to the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-D in 2367.  She became friends with the android Lieutenant Commander Data, who was also a friend of transporter chief Miles Edward O’Brien, and he introduced them..  Keiko Ishikawa became Keiko Ishikawa O’Brien in a traditional Japanese wedding in 2368 (Data’s Day).  Captain Jean-Luc Picard presided over the ceremony and Lieutenant Commander Data gave away the bride.  Keiko and Miles O'Brien became the proud parents of a daughter, Molly, in 2369.  Molly was born in Ten-Forward during a shipwide systems failure (Disaster), and was actually delivered by Lieutenant Worf.   Keiko O’Brien, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Ensign Ro Laren, and Guinan were on a shuttlecraft returning to the Enterprise from a scientific conference when the shuttle passed through a strange energy field, and they were transformed into children (Rascals).   Miles O’Brien was assigned to Deep Space Nine as the station’s Chief of operations and Keiko reluctantly joined him; she didn’t like the idea of being on a space station so far from home (Emissary).  Keiko rose to the challenges aboard a derelict space station; she started a school for the station’s children (A Man Alone), a project that was sabotaged by the ambitious and self-serving Vedek Winn (In the Hands of the Prophets).  Keiko and Miles O’Brien took leave from Deep Space Nine to visit Earth on the ocassion of her mother’s 100th birthday (Dax).
