DBHS Japanese Program Selected to Participate in the Kakehashi Project Trip to Japan This Summer!

We are proud to announce that the Consulate General of Japan in Miami recommended our program to the Kakehashi Exchange Project sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE).  We have been selected by JICE to travel to Japan from July 29th through August 6th this summer.  23 students and 2 chaperones will participate in a series of meetings, exchange activities, and travel experiences that will be chronicled through social media.  More details to come!

Kizuna Across Cultures Global Classmates

This year our Level 3 & 4 students are participated in the Global Classmates Program sponsored by Kizuna Across Cultures.  We were paired up with Kunori Gakuen High School in Yamagata Prefecture (in northeastern Japan) to discuss a variety of topics of common interest online using Schoology as our platform for communication.  We exchanged "omiyage" gifts by mail and discussed a variety of topics online from September through February.  Our program has now concluded, but our students have learned so much from our peers across the ocean, and we exceptionally grateful!

We are currently in the process of applying to the 2019-2020 Global Classmates Program.
