JCNot4Me Webpage
Recently, while surfing the net, I came accross an anti-Christian webpage, located here: http://www.jcnot4me.com/
Basically, the central message of this site can be summed up in the authors' words on the homepage:
" It occurred to me the other day, regarding the parents of Jesus, that even if Mary herself was here in the flesh, as pregnant as can be, there is no way at all that she could ever prove that some divine Father, Son, or even a "horny ghost" had gotten her pregnant, especially as the very existence of ghosts has never been proven, so how could Mary prove a particular one had gotten her pregnant? She couldn't. And neither can anyone else, then or now. It is a doctrine that has zero (Ø) evidence to back it up. For all it's worth, Mary might as well have said she'd gotten knocked up by a pack of horny midget Martian penguins. Both claims have exactly the same amount of evidence backing them up: zero.
Beliefs that exist with absolutely zero evidence to back them up, such as Adam eating a "forbidden fruit", Jonah getting swallowed by a fish, or a ghost knocking up Mary, I'd like to categorize with a new term: C.R.A.P. which stands for:
Christian Rationalization, Assumption or Postulate.
Don't go swallowing some CRAP a Christian tries to feed you. Also, it's not worth arguing over CRAP. So anytime a Christian throws some CRAP at you, don't waste your time arguing; just call it what it is - CRAP- and walk away."
I have discovered that it is usually personal reasons that inspire sites such as these. The content is usually emotional, non-scholarly, and rife with feelings of anger and resentment towards a christian person or group. Such sites are usually developed by non-theologians, who have little or no understanding of Bible cultures or original languages.
Yet, it can be easy enough for a Christian to respond likewise, with emotionalism and anger.
However, I think such sites serve to remind us as Christians of the need to show true love towards others. If we had the true "heart of a servant" that Christ demanded, I think far fewer such anti-Christian sites would dot the internet today.
Let's face it...A lot of the time, we as Christians roam around looking for some poor heathen to whom we may communicate "the Truth", and thereafter, sit back comfortably on our laurels feeling as if we have performed 100% of Gods' work in us.
This, I'm afraid, is just not an applicable method of spreading Christianity today. We need to get down and dirty, helping others in the community around us, and emulate the love of Christ that should be residing within.
So, my advice to Christians who want to truly combat such anti-Christian internet sites, is:
1. Cook a meal for an unbeliever on your street and bring it over.
2. Shovel their snow in winter, or mow their lawn in summer.
3. Greet them warmly and affectionately.
4. Visit their sick in hospital.
5. Offer them a ride when you see them walking during a rainstorm.
etc, etc...
Essentially, combat anti-Christianity through love.
The results will be amazing.
