Takes place after volume 38 of Manga. Ranma hears of a possible cure for his fear of cats, but it is extremely
far away and he does not want to leave immediately, he wants to improve on his relationship with Akane. Things change
when Ranma follows Akane using the Umi-Sen-Ken cloak when she enters the Kuno mansion, moving as if she did this every night,
which was possible as she would disappear for several hours at a time nightly. Apparently Akane and the Kunos have been
doing a good acting job as Akane has been having sex with BOTH of the Kuno siblings nightly behind Ranma's back. Ranma
leaves shocked and angry when he sees them, goes to the dojo, packs his meager belongings and leaves the dojo.
Ranma is surprised to find Nabiki with similar supplies to his own at the front of the dojo getting ready to leave when
he reaches the foyer. Apparently Nabiki was tired of the way she was always treated and was leaving, and apparently
she had fallen in love with him, though she would not yet admit it. Ranma tells Nabiki about what he saw as they leave
together, and where he is going. She offers to go with him and he accepts. Got a ring and letter from Jusenkyo
guide, the letter read something along the lines of "This ring was to be passed on to one who was cursed by the Nyanichuan
who was found worthy. It is supposed to be magic and have some connection with the curse, but what it is, I don't know.
You were found worthy. There is also another spring near Jusenkyo that is said to give people with certain berserker
techniques, such as the dreaded Neko-ken, full control over the technique without the need of a trigger and erases the trigger
from the mind, such as the fear of cats for the Neko-ken. You are to put the ring on the finger of your uncursed form
immediately before diving into the spring, though I don't know the exact effects, it will cure you of your fear. If
you come to my home, I will guide you to the spring. Good luck in your journey where ever your path leads you." There
is a legend or prophecy about one who was cursed with the girl spring. The ring was a solid gold band with a large jewel
of some sort. It is hard to concetrate on the jewel as it seems to be constantly changing, shape size, and color.
Legend/Prophecy: There will be one who falls into the Nyanichuan who has the mind of a human and the power of a cat.
He will be forced through many trials, but will not break, and he will be deemed worthy of the ring, and will have to bear
its curse. He will be accompanied by another after recieving the ring and they will journey to the healing spring together.
When he arrives, he will be in his birth form, he will wear the ring and dive into the spring. The spring will make
him whole, and tear him apart. Even though this is an end for him, it will also be a beginning, for he will start anew
and bring light to the world, but if this does not happen then darkness will consume the world.
Ranma goes to China, Nabiki accompanies him. The guide takes them as far as he could then gives directions for
the rest of the route, hoping that he had not misinterpreted the legend. Ranma dives into the pool with the ring on.
As he submerges, his body does two successive changes before there was a flash of bright light when he had completely submerged.
When the light faded, the only thing left was the ring at the bottom of a shallower pool. Nabiki jumps in looking for
Ranma and grabs the ring before surfacing. There is another flaxh of light, and Nabiki is lying on the bottom of a dry
pool wearing the ring on her left ring finger. Nabiki's body has changed to that of a cat-girl, tail ears and fur included.
Looking at the ring, she cries at the thought of never seeing Ranma again, and absently rubs the ring. A cat-girl version
of Ranma-chan forms next to Nabiki, and asks while bowing, "How may I serve you, mistress?" As soon as Nabiki sees Ranma,
she gives an Amazon style glomp. After calming down enough to notice what had happened, Nabiki just whispers while still
holding tight to Ranma, "I wish that I knew what just happened." Ranma replies with "Wish Granted." and Nabiki &
Ranma both go wide-eyed with shock, but for different reasons, Nabiki the knowledge had just been dumped into her head, and
Ranma, because of the strange power that had left her body when she had said 'wish granted.'
