Missed the the 20th Anniversary 1/41 Inf Reunion?

Well, here's the link for info on the next one...

25 year reunion 2AD(FWD)

Delta Company 1/41 Inf is reconstituted!

We reactivated D/1-41 IN on 2 July 09 as part of the 3rd BDE (Light), 1st AD at FT Bliss/Biggs AAF, TX. Since we are in a light brigade/BN now, the D Companies are HMMWV-mounted Anti-Tank companies (still holding true to the mounted history!). We only have three Soldiers right now (CO/1SG/Supply clerk), but we will get more in soon. As we grow, I would like to incorporate our proud unit history into unit functions and daily life. We are only getting started, but maybe as we progress, you could pass on some contact lists (if you have any updates to the one on the website) or pictures, that would be awesome. Thanks and I will be in touch.

We still have brothers serving. At least one alumni of Delta 1/41 from ODS/ODS, who served in Iraqi Freedom continues to Soldier on in Afghanistan. Keep him, and all the men and women serving overseas, in your thoughts and prayers.

It has come to my attention that Delta company has lost one of our fellow soldiers in Iraq. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

Sgt. 1st Class Gregory B. Hicks

Jan. 8:

Army Sgt. 1st Class Gregory B. Hicks, 35, of Duff, Tenn.
Killed when the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter he was flying in crashed near Fallujah, Iraq. Assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, based in Fort Hood, Texas.

We lost another Death Merchant alumni. He was my friend, he was probably your friend too.
He fought in Iraq twice and survived to retire.
A good man, he died too young.

Sgt. 1st Class Freddie A Bonetti, Ret.

Freddie A. Bonetti, SFC (U.S. Army, retired), age 44, of Brady, Texas passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, in Houston, Texas.

Live Free, or Die!

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. "

John Stewart Mill
