Delta Zeta, Omicron Nu Chapter, University of Windsor
Letter to the Parents

Dear Parents:

Delta Zeta Sorority prides itself on high principles and standards of excellence. We are an academic-based sorority, with additional emphasis on philanthropic involvement and creating livelong friendships between sisters.

The purpose of our sorority, as stated in our National Constitution, is:

to unite its members in the bonds of sincere and lasting friendship,

to stimulate one another in the pursuit of knowledge, to promote the

moral and social culture of its members, and to develop plans for

guidance and unity in action.

As a member of Delta Zeta, your daughter can look forward to many opportunities for philanthropic endeavors, leadership development, and the friendships of Delta Zeta sisters everywhere.

Every sister of the Omicron Nu Chapter is there as a source of support, comfort, and advice for your daughter. The bonds of friendship that we form are strong, and you can be assured that your daughter will always have a network of support, friendship and guidance that will enrich her university experience. More than this, your daughter will also benefit as an alumna of our sorority, as the contacts and friendships that she will make in Delta Zeta will always be available to her.

Delta Zeta also prides itself on academic achievement and excellence. We require all members to meet a minimum GPA requirement in order to join, as well as to remain an active member. Your daughter has met our high standards of academic achievement in order to become a member, and our Academic Chair works within the chapter to help each member succeed scholastically. We have study groups and mentoring programs that can help your daughter with her academic goals. Our chapter at the University of Windsor has received acknowledgement for our high GPA, and individual members have also received recognition from university through awards/scholarships and by being on the Deans List. As a member of Delta Zeta, your daughter would also have the opportunity to apply for National Delta Zeta scholarships as well.

Your daughter will also be able to give back to the community through Delta Zeta. Our chapter supports the Hiatus House (a battered womens shelter in Windsor), and Big Sisters of Greater Windsor as local philanthropies. Nationally our philanthropy is the Speech and Hearing Impaired. We often volunteer and fundraise throughout the year for other charities as well.

Within the chapter, there are many leadership opportunities for your daughter where she can build upon some valuable skills. She will also have the opportunity to attend many different Leadership Conferences held by our National Headquarters in the United States.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Wed love to hear from you!
