Sunday afternoon watching NASCAR
racing is how I and millions of other fans spend the day. The sport has become huge. EA Sports enters the
arena with Nascar Revolution. The demo limits play to 10 laps at Charlotte
Motor Speedway. You have your choice
of 31 drivers and can play with pit-stops.

The interface is simple to use. Make your selections on easy to navigate menus. Choose whether to have a short-pit on, select your driver, and race. You can also adjust your car's setup. I don't mess with this feature because I have no idea what any of that crap means.
The first thing that is gonna impress you is the sound. A shortened
version of the National Anthem is being sung and then you hear the
4 most famous words in all of motorsports, "Gentleman-Start Your Engines". The thunder erupts. This games has the best sounding engines I have heard. The starting grid is then announced. You can skip all this by hitting ENTER 2 times. So lets go racing shall we?

Visually the demo is eye-candy. The cars are by far the best in any Nascar title on the market. Light reflections on the back of the cars makes it even more appealing. The tracks is done well and the sky changes from night to day. The race has a rolling start. If you ever played Daytona USA at the arcade you
know what I mean. Just have the gas pushed because it starts at full speed. I thought the control was good. I used my MS Sidewinder gamepad. I have read other people saying that the controls suck but I have to disagree. On this track there is only one braking section so its pretty much "go-for-it", anyway. Three views are available: 3rd person, in car, and 1st person. The in-car view is not done well, no biggie.
Jerry Punch and Benny Parson do the race commentary. It gets repetitive at times but adds to the action. The demo is more of an arcade game than racing sim. It does have realistic damage but plays easy. I really like this demo. It has lasted on my Hard Drive for over 4 months. I still play it a few times a week.
