The "D Files" is a semi-regular column in the DAS newsletter, The Observer.
Members of our society submit articles about their scopes and/or equipment. The equipment
that they write about does not have to be completely home-built. The articles can be about
equipment that is store-bought. Members can write about something that they have tinkered
with, played around with, or just plain enjoy. It does not matter in the least. As long as
they enjoy what they are doing. In this way, this section of the DAS web site is not a
traditional amateur telescope making resource. It can, however, contain articles dealing heavily in amateur
telescope making. At the very least, these articles are entertaining. And, hopefully, you
just may come away with information that can aid you in your own amateur astronomy
endeavors.
