(Current Two-Month Schedule Below)
The DAS is a society of amateur astronomers, with almost 300 members. A non-profit organization, we are dedicated to public outreach, education, and observing the heavens.

A diverse group, the DAS has members possessing varied interests, and who hail from all walks of life. We have members who have built their own telescopes from scratch, those who are just as satisfied to buy their instruments from stores, and those who have no astronomical instrumentation. This last clause can not be emphasized enough. You do not need a telescope to join the DAS. All you need is a love of the starry sky that arcs o'er head at night. As you can see in the image below, taken at one of our Public Open Houses at Chamberlin Observatory, many members bring their telescopes to the functions that we host.
Members and non-members are encouraged to avail themselves of these opportunities to look through the many varied instruments that are made available.
Please go to our Document Archives page for directions to our dark Sky Site, a subscription/renewal form, and other goodies.
