TECHNICAL ADVISOR
ETHIOPIA (Réf CT. 1-00 bis)

Center International de Développement et de Recherche (CIDR) is a French NGO created in 1961 whose aim is to design and implement socio-economic development programmes in Africa.

In association with an Ethiopian NGO, CIDR implements a cereal banks promotion programme aiming at the creation and consolidation of several cereal banks networks over the country, as well as the establishement of a cereal banks promotion platform at a national level.
 

Responsibilities :

1) Institutional support and capacity building of the Ethiopian NGO in the field of cereal banks implementation (programmation, coordination and follow up).
2) Identification of partners for the creation of the cereal banks promotion platform.
3) Representation of CIDR in Ethiopia. Relations with donors and administration. Financial and administrative management of the programme.
 

Requirements :

Education : Master’s degree in Agronomy / Economics / Business Administration.
Experience : Minimum 8 years in programme management and institutional negociations, preferably in anglophone Africa.
Age : 35 years minimum.
Langage : English, and fluency French would be appreciated.
 

Conditions :

The technical advisor will based in Addis Ababa, with frequent travels to the areas of intervention (40% to 50% of the time).
Salary : 170 000 to 200 000 FF + housing + vehicule.
Two-year contract (renewable), to be started in April 2001 (selection period in France before).
