Requires : Executive Director

Greenpeace is an independent environmental organisation that campaigns to expose global environmental problems both nationally and internationally. It is currently in the process of setting up a permanent presence in India, and is looking for an : Executive Director to nurture a new but vibrant team and to develop its country programme. Registration processes are underway. It is intended that the central office will be in New Delhi with campaign office in Mumbai.

Greenpeace uses non-violent and creative confrontation to bear witness to environmental problems, and works to introduce solutions that support a green and peaceful future.

The Executive Director will be wholly responsible for all the management functions, from strategic planning to operations. Initially s/he will report to the Greenpeace International Regional Development Manager. On completion of registration formalities s/he will report to the Board of Greenpeace India.

The profile of the Executive Director is likely to have the following features :

  • Experience of at least five years in a senior management position, including planning and building a programme team, with expertise in financial management of large projects / organisations.
  • Education and training at a Post-graduate level, preferably with management / communication / environment science / development administration or related disciplines.
  • Language proficiency of a high order in English, along with fluency in Hindi.
  • Facility in interdisciplinary team pursuits.
  • Self sufficiency in computer based communications.
