The grandfather of all sim games, it all started with Mattel's Utopia. Another Mattel game ahead of it's time. The first sim game, Utopia let you build an island and manage it's economy. You could plant crops, and fish for food, improve living conditions for your citizens, and in two player mode start a revolution in your neighbor's country. This game is brilliant and complex, while fishing you need to look out for pirates, and hope that the rain will fall on your crops. They added natural disasters with heavy storms and hurricanes to keep you guessing. And if you wanted to add a PT boat to your navy, to destroy either the pirates or your opponents fishing boats. The ultimate addition to this game were the rebels you could send over and inflict damage to your neighbors economy, sometimes you got lucky and they took out a building, other times they just landed in a blank spot, but either way, it started trouble, in the game or with your little brother, who would toss the controller in rage, and break your Intellivision.
