Obituary: "Mrs Annie E. Jones, Widow of Dr W.E. Jones. Mrs Annie East Jones, aged 89, of 815 Johnson Street, widow of Dr William E. Jones, died Friday at a Little Rock hospital. She was a native of Batesville and had lived at Little Rock since 1918. She was a Presbyterian. Survivors include two sons, Dr Fay H. Jones and William E. Jones, both of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs Gordon Thomason of Magazine and Mrs J. Donald Hayes of North Little Rock, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ruebel Funeral Home by Rev Charles A. Higgins, Pallbearers will be Dr Hal R. Black Jr, James Robinson Jr, Donald Hayes Jr, James H. Penick Jr, William L. Terry and Thomas B. Hayes. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park."

"Dr William Enoch Jones, aged 62, widely known physician & surgeon, died at a Little Rock hospital at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. He had been practicing medicine in the Southwest for 35 years, and for 13 years he had been a resident of Pulaski county. His home was at the foot of Fort Roots hill. Dr Jones is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Annie Phoebe East, daughter of the late Martin A. East of Batesville & Mrs Eliza H. East, now of Fort Smith; two sons. W. Everett Jones & Dr H. Fay H. Jones both of Little Rock & two daughters Miss Helen Lucille Jones of Little Rock and Mrs Gordon Thomasson of Magazine, Logan county. Dr Jones was born at Jasper, Newton county, July 6, 1869. His parents were Enoch Marion Jones and Mrs Mariah Elizabeth Yates Jones. He attended the public schools at Greenwood, Sebastian county, and the Medical School of the University of Ark, from which he was graduated in 1896. He took postgraduate work at Tulane University, New Orleans in 1904 and took a special course at that university in 1911. He first practiced at Charleston, Franklin County, but moved to Poteau, Okla in 1897, where he became widely known as a physician & surgeon. He was medical examiner for a US government board from 1904 to 1907 and was division surgeon for the Kansas City Southern railroad. He joined the army as a lieutenant in the Medical Corps in 1918 and served on the Medical Examining Board at Camp Forest, Georgia, until a month after the armistice. He established his residence in Little Rock in that year and has been active in professional and civic affairs of the city. He was a Royal Arch and Scottish Rite Mason and was a member of Al Amin Shrine temple. He was past president of the Pulaski County Medical Society and was a member of the Arkansas Medical Society,the Southern Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He was a member of the Christian church and of the Little Rock Rotary Club. Politically, he was a Republican. BODY TO LIE IN STATE - The body will be removed from the chapel of P.H. Reubel & Co to the Albert Amin memorial temple at 1:30 p.m. and will lie in state there until 3 p.m. when the Rose Croix funeral service will be held.Services at the grave in Roselawn Memorial park will be in charge of the Rev. Roy Rutherford."
