This is the first glimpse we had of our little one, taken November 24, 1999 at 6 1/2 weeks! The black circle in the center is the gestational sac. The "shadow" that shows within the sac is the baby. When we saw this "live" we could also see the little heart beating within the crescent that is the body. It looked like a litle strobe light flashing! We were glad to know that with this sonogram he was in the uterus (as opposed to ectopic) and growing well.
This picture was taken December 6, 1999 at a little over 8 weeks. The baby has grown a LOT and is looking more "human" now! The large round part on the right is the head, the legs are to the left. You can see little arms and legs, and when we saw the sonogram "live", the little heart could be seen in the chest, just beating away!
We had this picture made on February 3, 2000. Toward the center of the picture you can see the round outline of the head and the outline of the body to the right. When we saw the "live action view" we could also see one of the little arms on the bottom-side of the picture moving up and down like it was waving to us!
These three pictures were made on March 3, 2000 at 21 weeks gestation. I am so big now that all of me will not fit in the sonogram screen at once. I am a very active little bugger - the sonographer had trouble getting pictures of me because her finger was not fast enough to hit the freeze frame button before I would move again! This was when Mom and Dad began to suspect I was a boy!
In this picture, I am lying on my back. My head is shown in profile on the right - my nose and mouth are the little "bumps" on top. My left arm is bent and near my face. The white spot near my nose is my other hand - in the live shot you could see both arms and hands were right up by my face. You can see my spine as the white curved line on the bottom right, and my ribs above that. Don't I have the cutest little nose???
In the middle picture, my head is toward the center in profile, and my body is under it. I am looking up as if to say "What is this thing that keeps poking me?" The white stripe is my left arm and hand.
In the last picture you can see my face if you look carefully. It looks like a Halloween mask! My head is in the center with my chin toward the left. The dark circles are where my eyes are.
This picture was taken April 3, 2000 at Fetal Photos in Tampa. My right hand and all five fingers are visible just above my body to the left.
Another profile shot - my mouth is open and in the "live" shot my tongue could even be seen as I "chewed" on the amniotic fluid.
This photo was taken May 3, 2000. My head is to the right and that big bubble to the left is my belly!!! I am a BIG kid for my age - a week ahead of schedule by measurements.
