Peter Weller plays Buckaroo Banzai, an ultra-popular half Japaneese, half American surgeon, rock star, physicist etc. who sets out to save the world; only he can stop the mean and ugly creatures from the eighth dimension! It's pretty neat to watch mostly because the plot and the characters seem to be right out of a comic book. John Lithgow's performance as the alien-possessed Dr. Emilio Lazardo is, to say the least, interesting. Even though you can have a hard time getting a feel for what's going on, Buckaroo Banzai is still enjoyable. Now considered a cult film!
