A.I. Artificial Intelligence

I was a schmuck and actually thought that this would be an excellent film. But like I said in the last sentence, I was a schmuck, and I thought incorrectly! Don't get me wrong, this certainly isn't a bad film, but director Steven Spielberg doesn't exactly live up to his expectations. It's about a young robot kid that just wants to be loved by his adopted mother. Unfortunately, the young robot causes a series of major incidents and the mother is forced to get rid of him. Instead of sending him to a place where he would be dismantled (and essentially die), the mother abandons the child in the woods. Thus, he embarks on a journey to find the Blue Fairy (you know, the chick from the Pinocchio story) to turn him into a real boy so his mother can love him. It's fairly disappointing, but not completely a waste; it's still mostly entertaining. The last half an hour or so seemed like it was "tacked on." It would have ended perfectly fine without it.
