As long as you're not expecting Citizen Kane, there is enough to enjoy about this film (that is often cited as being relentlessly bad) to keep you entertained for an evening. This film can be a celebration of a slew of Hollywood notables taking their careers, throwing it into the dust and stomping on it (that's mostly what makes "Cannonball Run" so fun). But then again, most of these actors were never exactly Oscar-worthy in the first place. It stars Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Farrah Fawcett, Dom DeLuise, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr., among others, who all meet up for a wild cross-country car race that ain't exactly legal. Sounds like fun? Well, you decide. Jackie Chan also has a minor role in this film . . . which I suppose might be technically considered his American cinema debut (as opposed to Rush Hour in 1998).
