The King of Comedy

Robert De Niro stars as Rupert Pupkin, a loser who dreams about becoming a famous comedian with mediocre talent. He worships funny talk show host, Jerry Langford, played by Jerry Lewis. He fights endlessly for just one chance to be on his talk show; he sends in tapes of his act, he waits ceaselessly out in the lobby, and he even ends up harassing the poor guy at his home. When all seems hopeless, he kidnaps him! A remarkably funny offbeat comedy brilliantly directed by Martin Scorsese. Robert De Niro's performance as the lunatic is inspired!
