This Mel Brooks vehicle starts out entertaining but is brought to a weak conclusion. A rich tycoon, played by Brooks, places an interesting bet that he can spend thirty days in the slums with no money or contacts. There, he struggles with finding shelter, food and the vile hoodlums of the street. Brooks doesn't even come close to the splendor of hilarity he showed in his previous efforts, but Life Stinks isn't as terribly bad as it's reputed to be. There are some funny moments, but they are nullified by the ample unfunny moments and the incredibly unlikely plot. Leave this one for die-hard Brooks fans.
